Halswell Osteopathy, Christchurch

At Halswell Road Clinic you will find Osteopaths, Acupuncturists, Midwives, Counsellors, Psychologists and Nutritionists, all offering a variety of services to enhance your health and wellbeing.

We provide a caring, professional osteopathic service to suit anyone with a team of highly skilled practitioners and friendly administrators all dedicated to improving the lives of our patients. We have male and female practitioners, and our osteopathic styles range from structural to cranial so if you prefer a firm or gentle approach, we can help you! Our osteopaths are all ACC registered and will work with your GP or other health professional to support your healing.

At Halswell Rd Clinic, we also have an acupuncturist, nutritionist, psychologists, counsellor and midwives. See profiles below.

Our Osteopaths

All of our osteopaths have trained in NZ or the UK. All have had 4-5 years of tertiary level training and also attend regular professional development courses. We are ACC accredited and hold Annual Practising Certificates with the Osteopathic Council NZ. Not all osteopaths work in the same way…some are more oriented toward structural treatment of the body, using stronger techniques including resisted muscle movements, strong stretching and joint manipulations, while some work with more subtle movements and pressures, such as in cranial osteopathy, or by gently releasing tension from tissues.

The toolbox of techniques that we learn is an extensive one, and there are also many postgraduate courses we can attend. So within our group, we have areas of special interest such as treating babies, pregnant women, sports injuries, chronic pain, concussion, the list goes on. All osteopaths are trained in safe and effective treatment for a baby or a very elderly person, as well as for a robust adult. If you are not sure which of our team to see, our receptionists will ask you a few questions and then guide you to the most suitable practitioner.
